EXPORTATION

News

Its strategic geographical position, its ultramodern infra-structural assets and its dynamic economy put Quebec in a very solid and forward position for enterprises established here to launch and export their products.  In the North American Free Trade Zone alone, exporting companies have access to a marketplace of more than 440 million consumers.

Charlevoix is 2 hours from Quebec City, 5 hours from Montreal and 8 hours from the United States, which means that  100 million American consumers can be reached by ground transport. It is therefore easy to understand that Quebec is the seventh trading partner of the United States, with goods exported reaching $52 billion dollars in 2007.   Canada is the second trading partner of the United States with merchandise imported from Canada reaching over $336 billion dollars at the end of 2007, nearly 16% of total goods imported in the United States.  In 2007, total goods imported from Quebec reached $70 billion dollars.  In 2007, total goods exported from Quebec reached $63 billion dollars.  Valued at $16 billion dollars, high tech sectors alone account for a quarter of exported goods from Quebec and more than 35% of goods exported from Canada.
